We wanted to go sailing as a family, as we have extensive sailing experience. We searched for a long time to find the right yacht to explore Sardinia. We were offered a 2025 Beneteau First 53 sailing yacht with suitable equipment. It could only be rented with a captain. Once we arrived, we found out that the captain was also the owner of the yacht. So we were like guests on his boat, cruising according to his rules. He was very nice and friendly, and we got a lot of useful information about Sardinia and Italy. But we wanted privacy and to sail with our family. There are many more details, but if you want to go on a cruise, this is a very good choice. However, if you want to rent a boat yourself and sail with your family and friends in the traditional way, we do not recommend this. The charter company should clearly add this comment to the offer.
